SRI’s PARC Forum:
A conversation with Bloomberg’s Parmy Olson and SRI’s Karen Myers
September 5th | 5:00 PM PST
SRI’s Palo Alto auditorium
How will AI transform the world?
Parmy Olson is a Bloomberg Opinion columnist covering technology. A former reporter for the Wall Street Journal and Forbes, she is the author of We Are Anonymous, and Supremacy: AI, ChatGPT, and the Race that Will Change the World. Olson will tell us about her new book, followed by an engaging discussion with Karen Myers, Vice President of SRI’s Artificial Intelligence Center, a lab that has been creating and developing AI for more than 50 years – since SRI’s invention of Shakey the Robot.
We encourage audience participation to discover how AI is poised to transform the world and what the future holds for society. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain insights from leaders in the field of AI.
Guests are welcome to enjoy networking and refreshments following the event.

SRI’s Artificial Intelligence Center
Founded in 1966, SRI’s Artificial Intelligence Center has played a key role in AI research since the field’s early days. The center has been the source of many seminal contributions to AI, spanning mobile robotics (Shakey), search (the A* algorithm), planning (STRIPS), image understanding (the RANSAC algorithm, TerraVision) and information extraction from text (FASTUS).
